Kursen består av två (dock inte fristående) delar. I det första momentet kommer vi att inrikta oss mot optionsteori i diskret tid. Avsikten är att snabbt och enkelt definiera vissa nyckelord som arbitragefrihet och kompletthet, samt martingaler och martingalmått. Vi kommer att använda trädstrukturer för att modellera tidsutveckling för aktiekurser och informationsflöden. Under det andra momentet The course consists of two related parts. Kursen börjar med beskrivande statistik, population och stickprov, samt elementär sannolikhetslära och vanliga fördelningar. Vidare behandlas hypotesprövning och konfidensintervall, korrelation och regression, variansanalys, Chi-tvåtest och ickeparametriska metoder. Ett annat viktigt inslag är att arbeta med statistiska standardprogram.The course start withdescriptive statistics, populations and samples as wellas elementary probability theory and standard distributions. Further we treat tests and confidence intervals, correlation, regression, analysis of variance, Chi-square-tests and non-parametric methods. Another important part is working with standard statistical programs.
