Crowdsource Intelligence – en kvalitativ textanalys av Bellingcats rapportering av MH17
Social media have revolutionized the way we socialize and interact. This has led to an extreme growth in information and a number of new tools has evolved that allows us to exploit data in ways that were previously out of reach for the generalpublic. Lately, we have been able to follow the emergence of various private intelligence initiatives. One of these is Bellingcat. The purpose of this paper

Disaster risk management and climate change adaptation in urban contexts: Integration and challenges
Popular Abstract in English Disasters continue to affect urban populations and housing infrastructure. They are intensified by extreme weather events caused by climate change. This situation has made the creation of synergies between climate change adaptation (CCA) and disaster risk management (DRM) urgent. Despite their similarities and the recognised need to unite CCA and DRM efforts, the fieldsAn increasing number of disasters continue to affect urban populations and housing infrastructure. The overwhelming majority of them have been caused by climate-related events. This situation has made the creation of synergies between climate change adaptation (CCA) and disaster risk management (DRM) urgent. Despite the recognised need to unite CCA and DRM efforts, the fields remain separate. Furt

Biochemical and Physiological Characterization of Nonsymbiotic Plant Hemoglobins
Popular Abstract in English People normally associate hemoglobin with blood. It is true that the iron in the center of the hemoglobin molecule makes it excellent at carrying oxygen in the bloodstream from the lungs to every part of the body. However, seventy five years ago a hemoglobin was found in a plant. And plants do not have blood. So what is hemoglobin doing in plants? What are its functionsHemoglobins (Hb) are usually associated with blood in humans. However, these proteins are widely distributed among living organisms. In plants the most known group are the leghemoglobins. Still, other Hbs that not participate in symbiosis are also found. They are known as nonsymbiotic Hbs (nsHbs). NsHbs are divided into class-1 and class-2. In this thesis three nsHbs from sugar beet (BvHb1-1, BvHb
Resilience to economic shrinking: reinterpreting the Asian economic miracle in a comparative perspective, 1964–2018
The successful economic performance of Pacific Asia is often held as a source of inspiration for aspiring catching-up countries. Notwithstanding, recent literature suggests that a key to the understanding of successful long-term economic performance lies not only in the ability to generate economic growth, but in limiting incidences of economic shrinking. Such analyses to explain the Asian economiThe successful economic performance of Pacific Asia is often held as a source of inspiration for aspiring catching-up countries. Analysis of background noise and boats noise detection in coastal areas
The underwater noise has a significant negative impact on marine animals. The EU has made efforts to keep noise emission within sustainable limits, but only in regards to boats with Automatic Identification System (AIS). The noise of recreational boats, which are the main noise emitter in coastal areas, is overlooked. Thus, there is a need to quantify the noise emitted by recreational boats and, iStudies have shown that the underwater noise undoubtedly has a negative impact on marine animals. The EU have made efforts to keep the noise emission within sustainable limits, but mainly in regards to commercial freight ships. This means that noise from recreational boats, which are the main noise emitter in coastal areas, are overlooked. The noise from recreational boats is also under-investigat
Dynamic glucose enhanced chemical exchange saturation transfer MRI : Optimization of methodology and characterization of cerebral transport kinetics
Dynamic glucose enhanced (DGE) chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) MRI is an emerging imaging technique that provides a molecular-specific type of image contrast, based on magnetic labelling of exchangeable protons. The technique enables the use of biodegradable sugars as contrast agents, and such compounds are believed to have less side effects than conventional MRI contrast agents. TRIPS and Technology Transfer
Abstract in UndeterminedTRIPS is a trade-off between the interest of the developed world in having its technology respected and the need for technology transfer especially to the least-developed countries. But this balance of interests is poorly expressed in the Agreement, which is primarily devoted to protection of intellectual property rights and only marginally addresses the other side of the c
Many group A streptococcal strains express two different immunoglobulin-binding proteins, encoded by closely linked genes: characterization of the proteins expressed by four strains of different M-type
Most group A streptococcal strains are able to bind immunoglobulin (Ig) in a non-immune manner, and the majority of these strains bind both IgA and IgG. Using molecular cloning and immunochemical techniques, we have purified and characterized the Ig Fc-receptors expressed by four such strains. Two of the strains express a novel type of receptor, designated protein Sir, which binds IgA and IgG of a

Endocrine markers of ovarian function: Clinical and biological aspects with focus on Anti Müllerian hormone
Popular Abstract in English During recent decades, significant changes in fertility pattern are seen in the Western World. Declining birth rates and smaller family sizes affect the population size, but also cause unwanted effects for the desired number of children to be achieved by the individual couple. Also involuntary childlessness is a consequence of postponing childbearing to an age where theDeclining birthrates and infertility are now a common problem in the Western World. Due to the tendency to postpone childbearing an increasing age of women who consider motherhood is generally seen. A factor closely related to female fertility is the ovarian reserve, a term used to designate both quantitative as well as qualitative aspects of the remaining gametes in the female gonads. Despite a n
Creating a coreference solver for Swedish and German using distant supervision
Coreference is a relationship between two or moreexpressions in a text when these expressions referto the same person or thing. Coreference solving, the identification of sets of coreferring mentionsin a text, is a well-studied problem in the fieldof natural language processing (NLP), the com-putational analysis of text. As an example, con-sider this short text:John drove to Judy’s house. He made heIt is said that coreference is difficult to explain, but easy to comprehend; everyoneknows coreference, they just don’t know that they do. We trained a computer toknow it too! Coreference resolution is the identification of phrases that refer to the same entity in a text. Current techniques to solve coreferences use machine-learning algorithms, which require large annotated data sets. Such annota
