Under de senaste 100 åren har vi successivt minskat vår dagliga fysiska aktivitet. Eftersom vi är mindre vältränade, svagare och mer överviktiga har benägenheten att drabbas av sjukdomar som diabetes och hjärt- och kärlsjukdomar ökat. WHO rapporterar att 25% av vuxna inte uppfyller de globala rekommenderade nivåerna av fysisk aktivitet.
