We have used transmission electron microscopy to determine the morphology of InP Stranski–Krastanow islands in GaInP, grown by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition at 580 °C. We investigated both capped and uncapped islands. It was found that the fully developed islands have the principal shape of truncated pyramids with a hexagonal base both before and after overgrowth. The planes defining the

The photoluminescence of Mn2+ in ZnS : Mn2+ nanoparticles with an average size of 4.5 nm has been measured under hydrostatic pressure from 0 to 6 GPa. The emission position is red-shifted at a rate of −33.3±0.6 meV/GPa, which is in good agreement with the calculated value of −30.4 meV/GPa using the crystal field theory.

Cystatin C is a cysteine protease inhibitor, aimed for secretion, as it is produced with a signal peptide. Its target enzymes are thought to be the lysosomal cysteine cathepsins and legumain. Cystatin C has been considered to excert its enzyme inhibiting functions extracellularly, as a defense against enzymes from leaking lysosomes or invading pathogens. It was demonstrated by various techniques,

Essentialism is an unpopular word in contemporary anthropology. One would probably be hard pressed to find an anthropologist who would adopt any traditional essentialist position. Indeed, uses of the word "essentialism" occasionally seem little different from the uses of a derogative. Anti- essentialism is the norm today and several forms of contemporary anthropology make it a basic ten

Denna uppsats behandlar vårdnadsregleringen i 6 kap. föräldrabalken (1949:381), med tonvikt på principen om barnets bästa. Principen ska vara avgörande i varje beslut gällande barn enligt 6 kap. 2 a § FB. Att barnets bästa står i centrum vid bedömning har länge varit fallet i svensk rätt. Vad som är intressant med denna princip är att den är i ständig förändring då innebörden påverkas av samhälletIn this essay, the regulation of legal custody as it is written in chapter 6 in the Parental Code (1949:382) is discussed, with primary focus on the principle of the best interests of the child. This thesis presents studies of three different Quark-Gluon Plasma estimators in proton-proton collisions using what is currently believed to be quark-gluon plasma observables; radial flow, elliptic flow and strangeness enhancement. The three tested estimators were Transverse Spherocity, an altered version of Transverse Spherocity where all p_T was put to one, and a newly developed estimator calle
