We describe a simple, yet practical and precise. way of measuring sorption isotherms with each sample in its own glass jar with a saturated salt solution. The measurements are done with below-balance weighing and with the sample kept inside the closed jar during the whole measurement period, providing constant relative humidity (RH) conditions. The technique has been tested on microcrystalline cel

En rad statistiska och analytiska verktyg har tillämpats för att studera nedeFlooding in urban basins is intensifying due to increasing urbanization and climate change and variability. This thesis presents how the effects of climate change and high-intensive rainfall on the urban drainage system and management of flooding in urban areas of were studied in Mumbai, India and Southern Sweden, including Skåne and Gothenburg. Various statistical and analytical tools were applie

The infrared spectrum of the complex between o-H-2 and H2O, D2O, or HDO, isolated in a matrix of solid p-H-2, has been studied between 20 and 4500 cm(-1). In addition the infrared spectrum of the complex between p-D-2 and H2O in solid o-D-2 has been studied. The spectral shifts are interpreted as the result of the quadrupole-dipole interaction between hydrogen and water. (c) 2006 American Institut

Time-domain fundamental solutions and Green dyadics for temporally dispersive, simple media are introduced. Second forerunner approximations to the electromagnetic fields from an electric point dipole in unbounded dispersive materials are obtained. Numerical results for two frequently used material models are presented. Moreover, surface integral representations of the electromagnetic fields in di

This paper considers the problem of stability of linear feedback systems with time-varying but bounded delays. Simple but powerful criteria of stability, as well as a simple performance bound, are presented for both continuous-time and discrete-time systems. Using these criteria, stability can be checked in a closed loop Bode plot. This makes it easy to design the system for robustness.

A simple second order feed-forward disturbance attenuation problem is analyzed. The problem has one free parameter, the control weight ρ in the loss function. It is found that controller structure and uniqueness for H∞ - control, in the optimal case, changes when ρ is varied. Sensitivity to initial conditions is also drastically changed. The example is simple enough to allow a solution by formula

Heusler compounds are a ripe platform for discovery and manipulation of emergent properties in topological and magnetic heterostructures. In these applications, the surfaces and interfaces are critical to performance; however, little is known about the atomic-scale structure of Heusler surfaces and interfaces or why they reconstruct. Using a combination of molecular beam epitaxy, core-level and an
