Vertical temperature gradients in apartments with hydronic radiator heating
A vertical temperature stratification normally exists in rooms during the heat-ing season in cold climates. An expression of the gradient in apartments heated by hydronic radiator heating systems with exhaust ventilation has ear-lier been developed assuming a dependency of the outdoor temperature. The expression was used by a public real estate owner when re-calculating meas-ured indoor temperaturA vertical temperature stratification normally exists in rooms during the heat-ing season in cold climates. Projectification of Organizations, Governance and Societies : Theoretical Perspectives and Empirical Implications
This book is about projectification – a concept that captures the increasing reliance on “the project” in contemporary societies, governance and economies. Despite its significance, this development and transformation, not only of public and private organizations but also our working environment and way of living, has received little scholarly attention compared to other major societal movements.
Access to Housing for Migrants and Refugees : Testing the Boundaries of International Law
This thesis examines whether international law is sufficiently equipped for a sound conceptualization of migrants’ and refugees’ right to access housing beyond a minimalistic paradigm. Itaims to assess the potential and shortcomings of this right in counteracting the manner in which power is exercised in migration law, policy, and politics to instrumentalize housing against migrants and refugees. MicroRNAs in HER2-Amplified Breast Cancer
Popular Abstract in English Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide and the leading cause of cancer-related deaths. Although survival rates are low compared to other cancers, more than 500,000 women worldwide die of breast cancer every year. It is however not a single disease but rather a collection of different diseases with similar appearance but distinct molecular mechanisms. Background: Breast cancer is the most common female malignancy and the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Targeted therapy against the main biomarkers estrogen receptor alpha (ER) and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2/ERBB2) have greatly improved mortality rates, but ab initio or acquired therapy resistance is common. It is imperative to identify patients who will benef
Kraven som ställs på individer vid ansökan om medborgarskap : En teoriprövande studie om det medborgarskapspolitiska beslutsfattandet bakom medborgarskapskravens utveckling i Nederländerna och Österrike
Civic integration is something that states interpret differently in their formulation of citizenship requirements. Thinking of the ongoing refugee crisis in Europe, citizenship policy is an important issue because states will confront new residents who need to obtain a citizenship in order to start a new life and integrate in a foreign country. The aim of this study is to follow up with existing r

Kinas mjuka makt - Zambias hårda verklighet
During the past century China has increased its economic engagement in Zambia which has captured the attention of International Relations studies. The magnitude of Chinese economic linkages to Africa in terms of investment, trade and aid is nothing but of great importance at many levels in relation to its implication for the Zambian people (Morgan 2018). Soft power is often explained by the resear
Seasonal Employees as Brand Ambassadors? - A Bachelor Thesis about Management Strategies for Seasonal Employee Commitment and Brand Ambassadorship
Today, the majority of employees in the tourism industry work under contingent and fairly insecure working conditions, among them seasonal employees. In this industry, the business of amusement parks and resort hotels is one with a high quota of seasonally hired front-line employees. Research from Human Resource Manage¬ment pinpoints the underlying risks of low commitment among employees in an ind

Moisture Transport in PA6
Polyamide 6 (PA6) is known to absorb water from its environment due to its chemical structure. The water absorption leads to changes in the mechanical properties as well as an increase in volume (swelling) of the polyamide. In this work, the sorption and diffusion of water vapor are investigated through gravimetric experiments and numerical simulations. The mixture theory framework is adopted to d
Vägransgrund vid prövning av underhåll mellan makar efter äktenskapsskillnad – En komparativ studie mellan svensk och fransk rätt
The essay is a comparative study between the Swedish regulation of spousal maintenance after divorce and the corresponding French regulation of prestation compensatoire which directly translates to provision of compensation. The regulations differ, particularly, because French law includes a ground for refusal related to the issue of fault in the divorce. To explain the difference, the significanc

Planning in and against the urban commons
The argument running through Sevilla-Buitrago’s analysis is that spatial planning as a form of expertise cannot be untethered from capitalist urbanization, but that planning also must be related to urban commons, conceptualized as the actually existing self-management of resources in opposition to capital. The book’s four case studies are used all in an argument contending that planning must ‘neutThe argument running through Sevilla-Buitrago’s analysis is that spatial planning as a form of expertise cannot be untethered from capitalist urbanization, but that planning also must be related to urban commons, conceptualized as the actually existing self-management of resources in opposition to capital. Exploring limited capacity in the grid : Actors, problems and solutions
An extensive and reliable electricity grid is essential for all sectors of society. In parts of Sweden, the electricity grid has been suffering from a lack of capacity. This is something affecting all sectors and all people in these regions. The capacity problems have however so far mainly been analyzed in a technical system perspective, focusing on incumbent actors, whereas other actors have been

Advanced Laser-based Multi-scalar Imaging for Flame Structure Visualization towards a Deepened Understanding of Premixed Turbulent Combustion
Popular Abstract in English Nowadays, the majority of energy production comes from combustion which is universally linked to daily human activities. Public awakening of the environmental effects of combustion pollution evokes extensive research activities in improving combustion efficiency and reducing pollutant production. Development of combustion processes also includes the use of renewable bioThe work presented in the thesis concerns the developments of laser-based diagnostics and its application to the study of turbulent premixed combustion. The diagnostic developments, mainly concerned with planar laser-induced fluorescence (PLIF), are intended to provide instantaneous visualization of the key species originating from the combustion processes involved in the burning of hydrocarbons
