Future physics opportunities for high-density QCD at the LHC with heavy-ion and proton beams
The future opportunities for high-density QCD studies with ion and proton beams at the LHC are presented. Four major scientific goals are identified: the characterisation of the macroscopic long wavelength Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) properties with unprecedented precision, the investigation of the microscopic parton dynamics underlying QGP properties, the development of a unified picture of particle

A Relative Success? Notes on the circulation and wider reception of Scandinavian Crime
In this paper Scandinavian crime, or Nordic Noir, in its filmic and televisual incarnations, will be considered on its relative merits as a transnationally successful, but regionally based popular cultural expression. The inquiry will be conducted against a backdrop which briefly traces the history and some of the obstacles which historically have limited the transnational circulation of European

Evidence-Based Guidelines for Advancing Continuous Experimentation
Continuous experimentation (CE) is used by many internet-facing companies to improve the value of their products based on user feedback gathered, e.g. through on-line experiments using A/B testing. Frameworks and theories for CE have been derived through academic research from applications in large internet facing companies. To assist practitioners in a broader range of companies, we herein presen

New rules for the spaces of urbanity.
The best way to conceive semiotical spaces that are not identical to single buildings, such as a cityscape, is to define the place in terms of the activities occurring there. This conception originated in the proxemics of E. T. Hall and was later generalized in the spatial semiotics of Manar Hammad. It can be given a more secure grounding in terms of time geography, which is involved with trajecto
Placing articles in the large publisher nations: Is there a "free lunch" in terms of higher impact?
This paper deals with the role of a journal's publisher country in determining the expected citation rates of the articles published in it. We analyze whether a paper has a higher citation rate when it is published in one of the large publisher nations, the U.S., U.K., or the Netherlands, compared to a hypothetical situation when the same paper is published in journals of different origin. Abstract in Danish Formål: Formålet er at beskrive tuberkulosens (tbc.) epidemiologi i Danmark de sidste 25 år, specielt udviklingen i den danske befolkning. Metode: Et registerstudie af anmeldte tilfælde af tbc. i Danmark 1972-1996: Fra 1970-1989 i DIKE's register, fra 1990-1996 i EPI-registeret, epidemiologisk afd., Statens Serum Institut. Resultater: tbc.-incidensen faldt jævnt fra 1972 indtiThe present study is based on notified cases of tuberculosis (TB) in the National tbc. register 1972-1996. A decline in Tb incidence was seen from 1972 and until the mid-1980's. Subsequently the trend has reversed due to an increasing number of TB cases in foreigners. In 1996, 60% of all cases of TB in Denmark were found in foreigners reflecting the rising number of refugees and their families arr
