In January 1969, the Folklife Archives in Lund was contacted by the National Heritage Board to plan an ethnological survey and documentation of Sturup. For three years, it had been decided to build an airfield in Sturup. In the years 1969-1970 the survey was conducted through interviews and photographs with measurements of the buildings and the exterior and interior of the houses. About 30 people were interviewed, 90 properties were documented and roughly 3,000 photographs were taken. The task was to save the last memorials of an old agricultural settlement as it appeared in real estate and appeared in the memory of the population.
