The Folklife Archives conducts continuous documentation through it's themed directives (questionnaries) that are sent out three times a year to our panel of writers. The directives are sent out in collaboration with researchers at Lund University or by the initiative of the Folklife Archives and the topics vary widely for example: To inherit, On greetings, Music consumption and music listening, To lend and to borrow. The Folklife Archives also performes special documentations on its own initiative. One current example is the Scania Music Collection's ongoing project concerning the Berndtsson fiddler family.

Field work material in the form of interviews and sometimes photos or film, by researchers and students in ethnology, are archived in the Folklife Archives.
